The decline of the Covid-19 epidemic is being confirmed "day after day" in France, greeted, Wednesday, September 22, the government spokesperson, Gabriel Attal.

However, the health pass will be maintained for the moment in all French departments, he announced at a press conference at the end of the Council of Ministers preceded by a Health Defense Council.

"The sanitary pass has been confirmed as being a very effective tool for keeping open places which should have been closed if the sanitary pass had not existed (...) At this stage, there is no decision. to adapt the health pass which continues to apply under the same conditions as today, "he said.

While a bill to extend the health pass beyond November 15 is being drafted and must be presented on October 13 in the Council of Ministers, Gabriel Attal indicated that the government would "continue to work on a adaptation of the sanitary pass ".

"The President of the Republic has placed an order so that adaptation criteria can be defined. They will obviously take into account the incidence rate in the different departments but they will also take into account the percentage of the population vaccinated in these same departments", he detailed.

The gauges lifted in certain establishments

On the other hand, health restrictions will ease for some children.

The obligation to wear a mask in primary schools, until then applicable for students from CP, will be lifted from October 4 in the departments least affected by the epidemic, announced the government spokesperson. .

"From Monday, October 4, in the departments where the incidence rate stabilizes below the threshold of 50 per 100,000 inhabitants, the school protocol will go to level 1, which essentially means that the obligation to wear a mask to primary school will be lifted, "said Gabriel Attal.

Second measure, "the gauges which apply in certain establishments open to the public will be lifted in these same departments", he added.

This mainly concerns the cultural sector, in particular standing concert halls as well as nightclubs, he then said.

According to figures published by Public Health France, nearly half of metropolitan departments have now reached this threshold.

41 departments out of 101 are already below this level.

27 others, in orange, are close and could reach this threshold within ten days.

This "good news, we owe it mainly to the considerable progress of the vaccination coverage: the vaccination campaign is a French success, we crossed at the end of last week the milestone of 50 million French people vaccinated", he said. he called back.
