- Through the man's extensive violence, it is clear that she has experienced great suffering.

The act has had the character of an execution.

The investigation provides support that the act was particularly ruthless, Axelsson said according to the newspaper, about the assault that took place on April 15 this year in front of several witnesses.

- He has attacked NN (the woman) from behind, and it is a violence against vital parts of the body.

It should be clear to the man that his attack would lead to NN's death.

40s stabbing

According to the indictment, the man killed his ex-wife with about 40 stab wounds.

The man had found out when the woman's train would arrive and must have traveled to the city armed with a knife.

He was waiting for her when she got off the train and then attacked her from behind.

Other people tried to stop the attack, but the accused man returned, according to the description of the crime in the lawsuit, repeatedly to hand out further stab wounds.

Five murders of women in three weeks

The murder received a lot of attention, partly because the victim was one of five women who were killed in less than three weeks in Sweden this spring.

The accused man who denies murder has explained his actions by saying that he was influenced by inner voices.

According to a forensic psychiatric examination, however, he does not suffer from any serious mental disorder.

The verdict from Linköping District Court will be announced on 1 October.
