A 44-year-old father was arrested on the evening of September 19 in Villeurbanne for domestic violence, we learned this Wednesday from the Sûreté du Rhône.

His wife had just contacted the police, indicating that she had fled the home following the beatings received.

She also specified that this violence "was recurrent" and "had lasted for several years", sometimes in the presence of the couple's two children aged 3 and 12.

On the day of her appeal, the victim was beaten in front of her children.

Placed in police custody, the man admitted the altercations but denied the physical violence.

He must be tried in immediate appearance this Wednesday afternoon before the court of Lyon.
