Ikea, which specializes in furniture, has launched a new wireless charger called Sjömärke, at a price of $40 that can be attached to furniture such as tables.

It charges devices as soon as the device is placed on the table.

The device is characterized by that it can be hidden so that it is not visible on the surface of the table, so it can stick to the bottom, or behind the library, for example;

Which preserves the aesthetic aspect of furniture and decoration.

IKEA has been trying to develop itself more and more towards affordable home electronics over the past decade.

Starting with a line of premium Ikea-branded rechargeable batteries, the Swedish furniture maker has also released smart home accessories like light bulbs and wireless switches, partnering with Sonos for IKEA speakers, and panels that fill your home with music. Air purifiers disguised as side tables, and many ways to wirelessly charge Qi-compatible devices.

In 2015, IKEA released its first wireless charging upgrade kit, the $30 Jyssen charger, which can be used to add a charging pad to tables, counters and desks, but it required some carpentry skills to install.

The new “Khomarque” charger from Ikea is a much better option, as it does not need to make holes in the furniture to install it, but one of its drawbacks is that it does not work on metal surfaces, and Ikea recommends that the thickness of the furniture surface be between 3/8 and 7/ 8 inch.

These limitations actually mean that this charger is not compatible with many IKEA furniture that is metal or thicker than the permissible limit, but it remains an option for anyone who wants to reduce equipment and devices on their wooden desk.
