- This is nothing I can comment on until we have received information from the administrative court, says city planning manager Helén Wiklund Wårell.

Dangerous construction

In the autumn of 2020, the D-hall was closed when, in connection with an inspection, skews were discovered in several trusses.

The inspection was caused by the collapse of Tarfalahallen in Kiruna.

In July this year, Luleå municipality agreed with Nåiden, who previously built the hall, to only replace the roof - with a view to it being ready in January 2022.

May linger

Until the closure, the D-hall was frequently used for, among other things, figure skating and curling, and if the administrative court decides on inhibition, the renovation can be stopped and it may take longer than planned before the D-hall can be reopened.

- To say something about delays in this situation is like trying to see in a fortune teller, so I will not do that.

No comments are what I can say right now, concludes Helén Wiklund Wårell.

"To be done correctly"

"That the repairs of the D-hall can now be postponed is entirely the fault of the city planning office," writes SD's group leader, Per Göransson, in a press release.

He continues: “Laws and regulations must be followed and procurements must be made in the right way.

The city building administration has had this whole summer to solve ”.

But there is nothing that the city planning director wants to comment on at the moment.
