While visiting New York to attend the UN General Assembly, President Moon Jae-in met with Albert Bulla, president of Pfizer, an American pharmaceutical company, to discuss additional purchases and early supply of coronavirus vaccines next year.

With this, President Moon met with representatives of all major vaccine development companies following Moderna, Novavax, AstraZeneca, and CureVac.

President Moon had an interview with Chairman Bulla at a hotel in New York City tonight (Korean time) on the night of the 21st, and exchanged opinions about purchasing additional Pfizer vaccines to counter the new mutated virus.

They discussed additional purchase plans in addition to the 30 million units contracted in August.

President Moon also asked for interest and support for Chairman Bulla for the early supply of next year's vaccine.
