Parties that did not enter the State Duma were offered to allocate seats in the Public Chamber

In his address, the political scientist noted that in the elections to the State Duma, a certain number of parties traditionally cannot overcome the necessary barrier of 5%.

At the same time, according to him, the parties that received more than 1% of the votes already have significant support - from several hundred thousand to more than 1 million votes.

“In order to develop these small political organizations that already have a significant electorate, I ask you to consider the possibility of amending the federal legislation in terms of granting political parties that won more than 1% in the elections to the State Duma, but did not overcome the necessary barrier, places on the quota in the Public Chamber of the Russian Federation, ”the text of the appeal says.

Orlov noted that, having received the opportunity to work in the Public Chamber, representatives of these parties will be able to lead an active social and political life, participate in the discussion and consideration of legislative projects, etc.

Currently, in accordance with the law, representatives of parties cannot be nominated as candidates for the Public Chamber.

Earlier it became known that the Kremlin positively evaluates the last elections to the State Duma from the point of view of competition, openness and honesty.
