She also added that she regretted the extremely unfortunate wording of her deputy on the issue of supporting pensioners.

Earlier, the first deputy chairman of the Bank of Russia, Sergei Shvetsov, expressed the opinion that "helping pensioners ... is a little too late."

“We need to help a citizen to retire with a good pension package, which must be formed by the citizen himself,” RIA Novosti quoted Shvetsov as saying.

He added that "when a person retired, relying entirely on the state, it is called socialism."

“I regret the extremely unfortunate wording of my deputy on the issue of supporting pensioners.

Most of those who have already retired or are leaving now did not have the opportunity to make savings for old age.

And, of course, this is one of the priorities of the state - to provide a decent pension for everyone, ”said Nabiullina.

According to her, the Bank of Russia, for its part, is working on the development of non-state pension funds in order to enable future pensioners to form long-term savings, and on increasing the stability of the financial system so that people can receive income from those savings in bank accounts, investment accounts that they have.

“But these efforts are an addition to the state pension system,” Nabiullina said.

Earlier, the Pension Fund of Russia recalled mistakes that could affect the appointment and size of pension payments.

A statement on the official website of the PFR notes that the pension is assigned from the day you apply for it with an application and all the necessary documents.

The department advised Russians to contact the Pension Fund with questions as early as possible: specialists will be able to check all documents and, if necessary, request missing information from the archive, from past employers or from the social security authorities of another state.
