One of the main prizes from the premiere competition in 1922 was a bronze sculpture by a skier Gustav Vasa.

The value then was SEK 11,000, corresponding to SEK 295,000 in today's money value.

Sold the price - then it disappeared

The prize was taken home forever by the skier Arthur Häggblad when he won the Vasaloppet for the fourth time in 1940.

Sometime in the late 1980s, he sold his prize collection and the bronze sculpture has since disappeared.

- For the 100th anniversary 2022 and Jubileumsvasan on 12 February, it would be very fun if we got to know where the prize is and maybe borrow it to show it on site in Mora and Sälen, says Mats Rylander, project manager for Vasaloppet's 100th anniversary.
