Mölndal resident Eva Gustavsson lost her husband to cancer in 2013 and life was turned upside down.

They had been married for 49 years and had many plans for what to do when they retired.

After a couple of years of grief and loneliness, Eva felt a need to take charge of her life.

- I thought that either I die or I do something sensible of the rest.

I had also promised my husband to live and not just survive, says Eva Gustavsson.

Fair that changed lives

She visited a trade fair in 2015 just to buy some new pillows for her caravan that she had set up at Tjörn.

But it was not just pillows she brought with her from there.

- It really said click when I saw it.

I thought this camper was so different from everyone else at the fair.

Traveled through eight countries

Already the first year she was out traveling in Europe for seven months and during that time eight countries were harvested.

And with her as a travel companion, she has the dwarf poodle Tomson.

He has taken over the place after his deceased father Tom who was on all trips during the first years.

- Except now during the pandemic, it has been about 200 nights a year that I live in the camper.

It is a freedom and a joy and I often sing when I drive.
