In Skara diocese, it is very even between the Social Democrats (S) 23.54 percent and the Politically Independent in the Church of Sweden (POSK) 23.23 percent.

POSK is also running in the election for the Gothenburg diocesan council, but the Social Democrats have 21.84 percent and POSK 18.49.

POSK wants the church to be governed without connection to party politics.

The left in the Church of Sweden (ViSK) also makes a good choice and looks to be represented with three seats in the diocesan council in Skara from having had zero.

In Gothenburg, ViSK increases from four to five seats.

But turnout declined despite forecasts to the contrary.

Ahead of this year's church election, political scientist Marco Nilsson, among others, believed in a new record in turnout.

But that did not happen.

Instead, it decreased.

See numbers on turnout in the video above.
