Every fifth person who has had covid-19 experiences a reduction in smell and taste one year after the illness.
To help these patients, Karolinska in Huddinge is now opening a new odor and taste department at the end of September.
The clinic is part of the hospital's post-covid department and will receive patients from all over the country.
In total, there may be between 300,000 and 400,000 victims.
