The pandemic has led to many being both forced and chosen to holiday in Sweden.

This has led to a great shortage of motorhomes.

The so-called home holiday attracts many to buy a rolling accommodation.

- It is the same tendency in the whole of Europe, hence the great shortage, says Lars-Erik Paulsson, head of the Chancellery of the Swedish Caravan Industry Association, HRF, to SVT Nyheter Väst.

At the turn of the year, there were a total of 108,518 motorhomes registered in Sweden.

During the period January to August this year, the number of newly registered motorhomes increased by almost 35 percent compared with the same period last year.

- The general impression is that it is the pandemic that is a strong contributing factor to the increase.

Global shortage

Lars-Erik Paulsson, head of the office at HRF, says that very many motorhome manufacturers have sold out of 2022 production.

According to him, many motorhome manufacturers have already sold out of 2022 production.

This is not only due to the increased interest in motorhomes but also to the global shortage of semiconductors.

- It has affected the entire automotive industry, which has had delivery problems because of it.

Those who notice the shortage now are motorhome dealers.

But is there room for all these campers?

- Of course, it is the case that the opportunity to go spontaneously to campsites is reduced.

Now it is more common that you have to pre-book to get a seat with your vehicle.
