After a communicator at Uppsala municipality interrupted an ongoing interview with SVT, the editorial staff has now taken note of the instructions that the employees at the education administration have to relate to in their contact with the media.

On the administration's internal website, there is a wording that goes against the freedom of information: “

If you have had contact with the media or provided information to them, always report this to your manager and to the communications manager.

- It is for two reasons.

Partly because we will be able to coordinate communication, because there are often several inquiries, and partly because there are issues that we need to channel into politics, says communications director Marta Tiberg.

She does not think the sentence is problematic because it is later possible to read about the freedom of information.

In the video above, you hear Marta Tiberg reason about the wording to the employees.
