One of the spokespersons for this platform bringing together several anti-corruption organizations and citizens' movements, Jimmy Kandé, explains why they are making this request to the EU: "

We call on the European Commission to maintain these sanctions simply because , all those accused of serious human rights violations have not yet answered for their acts at the level of both international and Congolese justice.

It would not be interesting today to see these sanctions lifted when they have not responded to their actions in court.

Jimmy Kandé, of the platform "The Congo is not for sale", adds that the platform wants the European Union to go even further and extend the sanctions to people accused of embezzlement and financial crimes at present: "

It is important that Europeans or the various organizations working on this issue understand that those who are also guilty of acts of corruption will have to answer for their acts in the same way as those who violated human rights under the Kabila regime
