At the invitation of Mexico, the rotating chairman of the CELAC, President Xi Jinping delivered a video speech to the summit.

  Xi Jinping pointed out that 10 years ago, under the efforts of Latin American and Caribbean countries to pursue independence and joint self-improvement, CELAC came into being. This was a milestone in the process of regional integration.

In the past 10 years, the CELAC has played an important role in maintaining regional peace and stability and promoting common development.

China attaches great importance to the development of relations with CELAC, and supports CELAC in coordinating cooperation with countries in the region to meet challenges.

In July 2014, leaders of countries in the region and I jointly announced the establishment of the China-CELAC Forum, which opened up a new path for overall cooperation between China and Latin America.

Over the past seven years, the China-Latin America Forum has developed vigorously and has become a major platform for gathering friendly forces from all walks of life in China and Latin America, and has made important contributions to deepening China-Latin America relations.

  Xi Jinping emphasized that China-Latin America relations have entered a new era of equality, mutual benefit, innovation, openness, and benefiting the people after experiencing international changes.

The friendship between China and Latin America has lasted forever and is deeply rooted in the hearts of the people.

Since last year, in the face of the sudden new crown pneumonia epidemic, China and Latin America have looked after each other and carried out comprehensive anti-epidemic cooperation.

China will continue to provide assistance within its capacity to Latin American and Caribbean countries to help regional countries overcome the epidemic at an early date and restore economic and social development.

China is willing to work with Latin American and Caribbean countries to overcome difficulties, create opportunities, and jointly promote the building of a China-Latin America community with a shared future.
