The Italian volleyball players, with a considerably younger team, became European champions by beating Slovenia in the final 3 sets to 2 (22-25, 25-20, 20-25, 25-20, 15-11), Sunday in evening in the Spodek Arena in Katowice, Poland.

The teammates of passer Simone Giannelli offer Italy its first international title since 2005 (Euro at home in Rome), the seventh continental coronation, while Slovenia fails for the third time in the final of a European Championship after the setback in 2015 against France and in 2019 against Serbia.
