The Arab Parliament responds to the "unfair European allegations" regarding human rights in the UAE
The Arab Inter-Parliamentary Union expressed its total rejection and strong condemnation of the European Parliament's decision on human rights in the United Arab Emirates. The Federation stresses that this decision is inconsistent with the principle governing international relations contained in the Charter of the United Nations “not to interfere in the internal affairs of other countries”, considering that the national judiciary of the UAE is an independent judiciary and has no authority over judges in their rulings in accordance with the state’s national constitution, and therefore it prejudices The authority of the judiciary is a violation of the national sovereignty of the United Arab Emirates, and questioning the integrity of the judiciary and its rulings contradicts all international covenants related to justice and the rule of law.
The Arab Inter-Parliamentary Union said in a statement issued today that it also rejects all the allegations and slanders contained in the text of this unfair resolution, which was issued by the European Parliament last Friday, regarding the human rights file in the sisterly United Arab Emirates, and stresses that it is a decision that lacks objectivity and accuracy in investigating the matter.
