19 September 2021 Francesco 'Pecco' Bagnaia on Ducati won the San Marino Grand Prix valid for the MotoGP World Championship, on the Misano Adriatico circuit.

The Turin rider preceded the French Fabio Quartararo on Yamaha, third Enea Bastianini on Ducati of the Avintia team.



For Bagnaia it is the second consecutive career victory in the premier class. At the foot of the podium the former World Champion, the Spaniard Marc Marquez, on Honda. Fifth was Australian Jack Miller on Ducati, followed by Spanish Joan Mir on Suzuki. The brothers Aleix and Pol Espargaro follow, respectively on Aprilia and KTM, while South African Brad Binder is not always on KTM. The Japanese Takaaki Nakagami on Honda closes the top ten. Valentino Rossi, in the penultimate race at the Misano circuit, finished in 17th place with his Yamaha Petronas. Last at the finish was Andrea Dovizioso, returning to MotoGP, on the other Yamaha Petronas.
