The sports environmental organization Clean Sweden together with Pantamera / Returpack holds the initiative where over 40 different associations this year clean 43 areas in Norrköping.

Cleans rather than sells

- Most associations would rather make a cleaning effort than sell things to make money for the association, and that breeds good behavior, says Anton Hedlun, project manager Clean Sweden.

That Norrköping in particular is being so well-cleaned, he says, is due to the fact that Pantamera has its head office in Norrköping and that there are many committed partners from the business community and many associations that want to join.

Big rubbish problem - but reduction in Norrköping

The dirtiest are on the major roads near the major cities and on the West Coast with all the plastic drifting in from the sea.

- There we pick huge volumes.

But we see that the efforts where the associations have been involved, there will be less rubbish every year.

Sixth year in a row

The cleaning has been going on all week until Sunday 19 September.

By participating in the cleaning, the association life receives a grant of SEK 5,000 to their respective team funds.
