Tibou Kamara, was arrested overnight from Saturday to Sunday at his home in central Conakry by armed men in uniform who took him to an unknown destination without providing an explanation, according to one of his relatives.
A second group of ten men then returned to search his room, taking various objects, including phones from his entourage, according to the same source.
Tibou Kamara was released in the afternoon.
A few hours later, the CNRD confirmed the arrest in a statement read at the end of the day on public television.
The former minister and adviser to Alpha Condé is accused of having violated commitments of neutrality towards the new power.
In a few lines, the CNRD recalls in its press release that members of the outgoing government must refrain from any action or communication likely to disrupt the new established order.
According to the CNRD, in this sense "
a commitment was made by the former Prime Minister Ibrahima Kassory Fofana on behalf of all the members of his government
".
"
It is following the manifest and repeated violation of this commitment that the former minister Tibou Kamara was arrested and heard
", affirms the junta, without specifying what it is accused of, but indicating that "
several objects in connection with this violation were entered
”.
Finally, in its press release, the CNRD, which says it makes justice its compass, reassures Guineans that no witch hunt will be carried out against anyone.
