The American Fox News Network quoted American experts that the UAE transferred mysterious shipments to Afghanistan immediately after the American military withdrawal from the country at the end of last month, and that these shipments may include weapons and communication equipment that fell into the hands of groups it described as terrorist.

In a report, "Fox News" indicated that the United States is concerned about reports of mysterious flights from the UAE to Afghanistan.

She stated that the Haqqani network - a powerful network within the Taliban movement - intervened to grant the Emirati planes permission to land, under the name of humanitarian aid, while other goods were unloaded by the Haqqani network members, not the Afghan airport employees.

The American channel quoted its sources as saying that the shipment may include encrypted and sophisticated communications equipment wanted by the Haqqani network, which Washington designates as a terrorist organization.

"Fox News" referred to what WikiLeaks revealed that the Haqqani network obtained funds from commercial interests in the UAE, and a visit by Khalil Haqqani - who is the brother of the founder of the Haqqani network - to Dubai for the same purpose.

The UAE had recognized the Taliban movement in 2001, and it was the only Arab country that participated with its soldiers in the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) forces in Afghanistan after the fall of the Taliban regime.

And the official Emirates News Agency previously reported that the country's authorities sent urgent medical and food aid to Afghanistan, as part of humanitarian efforts to support the Afghan people in the difficult conditions they are living in. The agency added that the UAE sent 60 tons of food aid.
