According to him, the recognition of the government of the radical Taliban * movement in Afghanistan is very important at the moment.

“Now we are working together with all of Afghanistan's neighbors to develop an approach on what the Taliban government should do so that we all recognize them.

Obviously, the most significant point is that the Taliban government must be inclusive, since Afghanistan is a diverse country, ”the Prime Minister said.

According to him, the Pashtuns, who make up the majority in the Taliban, are about half of the country's population.

However, Tajiks, Uzbeks, Khazars and other ethnic groups also live in Afghanistan.

“Thus, we all believe that it is in the interests of Afghanistan, for its long-term stability, there must be an inclusive government that will unite the country.

This is our position today, ”said Khan.

He noted that for decades, one or another part of the tribal zone in Afghanistan has been at war with different countries.

At the moment, it is important to understand whether the Taliban have been able to change in 20 years in order to adapt to the new realities of life in the world.

At the same time, Khan announced contacts with the Russian authorities, in particular with Russian President Vladimir Putin, on cooperation in resolving the situation in Afghanistan.

“I think the relationship between us is improving.

I had several ... a couple of meetings with President Putin, we have very good relations and mutual understanding.

So far we have had two telephone conversations.

We want to improve relations between Pakistan and Russia.

We are concerned about the situation in Afghanistan.

And in general, all countries around Afghanistan are now primarily concerned that it does not plunge into chaos, ”the head of the Pakistani government stressed.

According to him, at the moment, the main concern is that the instability in Afghanistan will sooner or later affect the situation in all neighboring countries.

On September 14, Putin held talks with Khan, during which the parties discussed the situation in Afghanistan.
