18 September 2021 Ferrazzano, a small Molise town of 3,175 souls, known for being the birthplace of Robert De Niro's great-grandparents, who also indicated it as his refuge "to escape from Trump's America", achieves a record: a theater covered with mosaics an "art container becomes a work of art"

The actor and director Stefano Sabelli, between one show and another of the small 'Teatro del Loto' he directs, is creating a work of art that is probably unique in the world: the external facade of a theater completely covered with mosaics. Sabelli, has so far created over 10 mosaics, both outside and inside the building, which took over 400 hours of work. Everything is built exclusively with recycled materials. "I realized that the mosaics it is now my second activity after that of director and actor - Sabelli told ANSA - The ultimate goal is to mosaic the entire facade of the theater and create a small Parc Guell in Ferrazzano ".

The mosaics are the result of whole days spent working. Now at the entrance to the small theater there is a mosaic of about 6 square meters. The actor and director recounts "I started it last year and finished it on September 5. It's a big puzzle made up of a few thousand irregular tiles obtained from the resulting majolica. It was a nice puzzle to complete it and there are took many days of work "Looking to the future, the cooperative" Teatri Molisani ", which in 2019 became the owner of the small theater, used the period of stop for the pandemic to completely renovate the exterior of the building, making it a de facto artwork. In addition to the mosaics, in fact, other facades of the theater were used to create huge murals visible even hundreds of meters away. "Now the theater is completely recontextualized in the village of Ferrazzano - Sabelli highlights - An added value, architectural and aesthetic, which arouses curiosity in visitors. The many tourists who spent this summer in Molise and Ferrazzano asked us to visit what guides indicate as" the most beautiful small theater in Italy ", they have always certified, after the visit, what represents a pride for us, that is to have made our land also a container of art, as well as one of the best examples of cultural resilience of Italy of the territories and inner villages "..Now the theater is completely recontextualized in the village of Ferrazzano - Sabelli highlights - An added value, both architectural and aesthetic, which arouses curiosity in visitors.
