France has recalled its ambassadors from both the United States and Australia in protest of the submarine deal between the countries.

For the country, this meant that they themselves lost an agreement worth about 40 billion dollars, corresponding to about 347 billion kronor.

In an interview with French France 2, Jean-Yves Le Drian accuses the two countries of having led France behind the light.

- There have been lies, double play and trampling on trust.

So the situation between us is not good at all, says Jean-Yves Le Drian.

Sends boot to the UK

Washington has lamented France's decision to recall its ambassadors and hopes to discuss the issue at next week's UN General Assembly.

According to Jean-Yves Le Drian, the crisis between the countries is serious.

- The fact that for the first time in history we call home our ambassador from the USA is a powerful political act that shows how deep the crisis is.

You can not act that way in an alliance.

We are an important partner, and then you can not be treated with such brutality and such unpredictability, says Jean-Yves Le Drian.

At the same time, he accuses Britain of "constant opportunism".

- We know it. That is why we do not need to call our London Ambassador home to explain the situation. In addition, the UK in this case is quite a lot of a third wheel, says Jean-Yves Le Drian.
