A new case of suicide under the wheels of the Cairo metro

An official source in the Egyptian Metro Company said that a man in his sixties was killed after he threw himself under the wheels of the subway train on Line 1 at Maadi Station in Cairo Governorate.

The Egyptian newspaper "Al-Watan" quoted the source as saying that the citizens who committed suicide under the wheels of metro trains are very difficult and uncontrollable, noting that the movement of trains was immediately stopped to work on removing the body from the tracks, and a report was issued regarding the incident.

He pointed out that by examining the clothes of the deceased, it was found that he was born in 1959 and resides in the Cairo governorate in the city of Al-Basateen. The source added that the company will deploy administrative security personnel on metro stations to reduce suicides inside metro stations.
