After today's Friday prayer in the Gothenburg Mosque, several of the visitors were able to combine their visit with getting their first vaccine vaccine against Covid 19. It is a collaboration between several actors where they joined forces to increase the opportunity for people to take their vaccine.

- It is a good opportunity in connection with the Friday prayer to reach out to many, says Eva Öfwerman, operations manager for Bräcke diakoni's mobile team.

Two weeks ago, Bräcke diakoni and the Västra Götaland region were on site in the Gothenburg mosque to inform about the vaccination and to create trust.

And on Friday, the bus arrived at the parking lot.

- It has been a very good collaboration between us.

The imams mention in their sermon that we are here and that you can easily walk by and get your vaccine after the prayer is over, says Eva Öfwerman.

Reach hard-to-reach groups

The collaboration is an attempt to further reach out to so-called hard-to-reach groups.

According to Faraj Semmo, chairman of the Gothenburg Mosque, it was a matter of course to help in the fight against covid-19

- The Gothenburg Mosque has been some of the first to take responsibility and close down the mosque and so on and we think we continue on that path and encourage to get more vaccinated for the sake of society as a whole, says Faraj Semmo.
