The hospital has not published a health bulletin since September 14, the day Pelé was released from intensive care.
Pelé underwent surgery on September 4 for a "suspicious" colon tumor, discovered during routine examinations.
The TV Record channel assured Friday that Pelé had to return to the intensive care unit where he had been treated for ten days, because of a "larynx problem".
The ESPN Brasil channel for its part indicated that the former footballer's state of health was "stable", but that he had to return to intensive care as a precaution, after suffering from gastric "reflux".
