Israeli police sources confirmed that the cost of searching for Palestinian prisoners who managed to escape from Gilboa prison is the highest in Israel's history, while the occupation suppressed protests in the West Bank against settlement, and a Palestinian driver was stabbed by settlers in Jerusalem.

Israeli Radio Kan reported, quoting Israeli police sources, that the cost has so far exceeded $30 million and is constantly rising, noting that the continued search for two prisoners who are still being pursued costs Israel between 3 to 6 million dollars a day.

Since the escape, Israel has sent thousands of members of the security services, special forces, and vigilantes, and used helicopters and advanced technology in the search operations.

protests against settlements

In another context, the Israeli occupation forces suppressed a peaceful demonstration in the village of Al-Mughayer, northeast of Ramallah, to protest against the occupation's continued control of Palestinian lands in favor of settlements.

And the occupation forces used tear gas canisters to disperse the demonstrators after they performed Friday prayers near the lands threatened with confiscation.

Earlier in the day, the occupation forces broke up a weekly protest gathering organized by Palestinians and foreign activists south of Yatta, south of Hebron, to reject settlement projects in the area.

The driver was taken to hospital for treatment, and his injuries were described as moderate.

A video tape circulated on social media showed 3 injuries to the back of the driver, Muhammad Abu Nab, a resident of Silwan town, East Jerusalem.

Abu Nabeeb works as a driver for the Egged Transportation Company (an Israeli government), and he was on the job in the Givat Shaul neighborhood in West Jerusalem, when he was attacked.

For its part, the Israeli company said in a written statement that it was investigating a brawl that took place in Givat Shaul in Jerusalem.

She added that the police forces were called to the scene of the accident, after a quarrel between 3 passengers of a car and a bus driver, which resulted in the injury of two of those involved, and they were evacuated for medical treatment.

The Israeli police did not clarify the identity of the second injured.
