Chinanews client, Beijing, September 17th (Zhang Yilin) Every 3 seconds there will be a new patient with dementia in the world. There are currently about 10 million people with Alzheimer's disease in China, and the number of patients is increasing year by year... But at the same time, the rate of patients' active consultation is low.

In the opinion of experts, popular science related to Alzheimer's disease is imminent, requiring doctors and patients to work together to build a line of disease prevention and control.

The research content of the white paper mainly focuses on the awareness of Alzheimer's disease (AD) and the importance of medical treatment by residents of various provinces and cities in China.

The survey shows that the respondents’ awareness of Alzheimer’s disease and Alzheimer’s preclinical subjective cognitive decline (SCD) is not low, but the potential reason for the low rate of active consultation may be the public’s insufficient awareness of them And not enough attention.

With the continuous acceleration of the aging process, the incidence of elderly diseases is also getting higher and higher, coupled with the lack of knowledge, the incidence of Alzheimer's disease is also increasing year by year.

Experts say that early detection, early diagnosis, and early treatment in the preclinical stage are the only way to prevent and control Alzheimer's disease.

However, in daily life, people often take such diseases too contemptuously, and they always feel that they are not so serious or have no time to go to the doctor, leading to delays in their condition.

Therefore, it is particularly important to carry out popular science education to the public and improve their awareness and attention to early Alzheimer's disease.

According to the white paper, economic level, education level, etc. have no significant impact on the awareness rate of Alzheimer's disease preclinical SCD.

Han Ying said that it can be seen from the report that, in fact, the awareness rate of the concept of preclinical SCD of Alzheimer's disease in China is not low, close to 80%, but the willingness rate of consultation is only 17%.

Investigation of the reasons for the low rate of active visits.

It can be found from the survey that people tend to despise diseases for various reasons.

For example, "I think it is caused by heavy work and life pressure, and it will be fine after a while", "Work is too busy and have no time", "I think the symptoms are very mild, and there should be no major problems", "Even if the diagnosis is clear, there is no medication", etc., Some people even think that “everyone will get Alzheimer’s when they grow old, and there is no need to see a doctor”.

The results of the survey revealed that the underlying reason for the low rate of active visits is due to insufficient public awareness and insufficient attention to it.

Han Ying said that the prevention and treatment of Alzheimer's disease requires the participation of all citizens.

Whether it is at the national level, hospital level or expert level, it can better promote Alzheimer's disease popularization and raise the nation's awareness of the disease.

She said that only by truly understanding Alzheimer's disease and understanding its later stage of harm, can we pay attention to the early diagnosis and early treatment of Alzheimer's disease, and improve the compliance of patients with treatment.
