Covid in Italy: the health pass will be required at all workplaces

From October 15, the “green pass” will be required at all workplaces, a device which therefore excludes only retirees, housewives and the unemployed.

Italy is the first European country where it will be forbidden to enter any public or private workplace without the "Green pass" (name of the health pass in Italy) from October 15th.

The new measure concerns not only employees of public administrations or private companies, but also home helpers.

The

health pass

 was already required for school staff and to access various places - from museums to nursing homes and dining rooms.

Target 90% vaccinated before November

For those who cannot justify their absence from work, the decree provides for the suspension of their post and their salary, as long as they are not in good standing.

But also a fine of 600 to 1,500 euros.

People exempt from vaccination, and therefore paid tests, will benefit from a pass.

To date, 72% of the population has received at least a first dose of vaccine.

But the authorities believe that to avoid new confinements, it will be necessary to reach a rate of 90%, before the month of November.

Hence the severity of the decree.

Mario Draghi even opposed the free rapid tests for workers, requested by the unions.

However, their price will be capped at 8 euros for minors and 15 euros for adults.

Depending on the measure, adopted by decree in the Council of Ministers, the precious sesame can be obtained from the first dose of vaccine against Covid-19 or thanks to a medical certificate attesting to the cure for 9 months or, even thanks to a negative test.

The validity of a PCR test will last 72 hours compared to 48 hours for an antigen test.
