There may be some noise this Friday around the Lann-Bihoué military base, in Lorient (Morbihan).

Bombs, shells and ammunition destruction operations will be carried out after the discovery of these weapons in the base.

According to

Ouest-France

, the oldest munitions date from the Second World War.

They would have been discovered recently during work and inventories carried out in the room housing the ammunition.

Significant detonations could thus be heard near the naval air base.

The base command ensures that very strict security measures will be applied and that these operations do not represent any danger for the population.

It is the Brest deminers who will intervene on site this Friday, potentially this Saturday.

Owned by the French Navy, the base located in Ploemeur employs around 2,000 people.

It would be one of the largest air bases in France and the largest in Europe for its surface area.
