With the start of the school year concurrent with the change of seasons, children suffer from weak body immunity and school hours are exhausted.
How can their immunity be strengthened?
The spread of the Corona pandemic and the entry of new habits of life contributed to putting parents in front of challenges to provide sound health for their children, hence the importance of immunity.
Pediatrician Ahmed Abu Al-Kas, through Anadolu Agency, provided a set of tips for parents on the occasion of entering the new school year, and how to strengthen the immunity of their children's bodies.
At the beginning of his speech, the doctor explained that strengthening immunity in children starts from the stage of pregnancy and before birth and continues after that.
The following are the seven tips given by Dr. Abu El-Kas:
1- The most important thing after birth is that the child is breastfed by his mother for a period of 6 months continuously, and later he continues to breastfeed for 24 months with healthy food under the supervision of a specialized pediatrician.
2- The necessity for the child to receive all the vaccinations recommended by the World Health Organization without neglecting them.
3- Teaching the mother to her child ways to prevent various diseases, how to wash hands, how to sneeze and what to do after, using the muzzle correctly, and how to protect and prevent corona.
4- Nutrition has an effective role in raising children's immunity, such as eating vitamin C, the most important of which is citrus fruits and sweet green peppers, and foods that contain vitamin E such as spinach, carrots, broccoli, and sweet red peppers.
In addition to iron-rich foods such as vegetables, meat and fish, foods rich in protein and calcium such as dairy, and foods rich in omega-3s, such as fish, walnuts, and fish oils.
5- To strengthen the child’s immunity, parents should also stay away from the habit of smoking, because it directly affects the child’s immunity, as studies have shown that the rate of diseases rises in children when the father and mother smoke in front of them.
6- Staying away from improper and unhealthy nutrition, such as eating fast food, and foods preserved in cans and bags for long use, such as chips and gelatin (jelly beans), which children are addicted to eating.
7- Sports have an important and effective role in strengthening and enhancing immunity, but parents should choose the appropriate ones for the age of their children so that they can practice it.
