Since the 18th National Congress of the Communist Party of China, under the care and deployment of General Secretary Xi Jinping, various localities have carried out in-depth protection and inheritance of intangible cultural heritage, excavating and rationally utilizing intangible cultural heritage resources.
At present, a four-level intangible cultural heritage list system has been established at the national, provincial, municipal, and county levels, and more than 100,000 representative intangible cultural heritage projects have been identified.
