This was stated by Australian Defense Minister Peter Dutton at a press conference in the State Department following negotiations with the American side.

Dutton said that Australia and the United States will "significantly strengthen their cooperation in the deployment of forces", as well as increase the degree of interaction and deepen the activities of the two countries in the Indo-Pacific region.

"This will include expanding cooperation in the air sphere through the rotational deployment of all types of American military aircraft in Australia," TASS quoted him as saying.

He also spoke about plans to create a joint logistics infrastructure and a maintenance complex to support the expanded military activities of both countries, including the Navy.

In turn, US Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin said that plans to help Australia obtain nuclear submarines will allow the Australian Navy to increase its defense capabilities.
