The statement stated that His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, visited the French Republic today, Wednesday, at the invitation of French President Emmanuel Macron.

According to the statement, His Highness and the French President praised the strong and historical bilateral relations that bind the two countries since the founding of the UAE in 1971 and noted the existing strategic partnership between the two countries, through which cooperation takes place in all fields, in order to confront common global and regional challenges, and to explore possible opportunities to promote peace and prosperity. .

The two sides affirmed their strong commitment to overcoming regional challenges, their common determination to combat extremism and terrorism, and to enhance their cooperation in the security and defense fields.

With regard to Afghanistan, the statement indicated that Macron renewed his appreciation for the UAE's support for the evacuations and its humanitarian assistance in this regard.

The two sides stressed the need to respect the rights of women, girls and minorities, to ensure the safe return to schools in Afghanistan, and the resumption of vaccinations against the COVID-19 virus.

The two sides noted the importance of the Abrahamic Peace Agreement in promoting tolerance and coexistence in the region, on the occasion of the first anniversary of its signing.

The two sides affirmed their support for the ongoing reform efforts in Iraq and their determination to follow up on the results of the successful Baghdad Partnership and Cooperation Conference, and expressed their common ambition to support the bilateral partnership to broader horizons while strengthening relations between the two peoples.

The statement added that the two sides renewed their commitment to the existing partnership in the Louvre Museum in Abu Dhabi, as well as in the economic sector, and welcomed the development of cooperation between France and the UAE in this regard, in addition to calling for expanding the partnership to include new areas.

The two sides welcomed the agreement between the Arab World Institute, based in Paris, and the Abu Dhabi Arabic Language Center (ALC) at the Department of Culture and Tourism - Abu Dhabi to cooperate in order to work on issuing a certificate of competence in Arabic language proficiency.

 They also agreed to work to support pioneering cultural cooperation projects in the future.

The two sides identified health as a major area of ​​cooperation, and agreed to explore new partnerships in this field.

With regard to multilateral aspects, His Highness and Macron decided to cooperate closely in the United Nations Security Council, to which the UAE will join next January.

They announced their joint support for multilateral health initiatives.

The two parties also committed themselves to intensifying exchanges between the peoples of the two countries in various fields and welcomed the upcoming opening of Expo 2020 Dubai on the first of next October, and the organization of the French National Day on the second of October 2021.

The two sides noted the UAE's celebration of the fiftieth National Day on the second of next December, which coincides with the golden jubilee of the state, and announced the establishment of an Emirati-French Business Council to further revitalize and support economic relations between the two countries.

In conclusion, His Highness and Macron affirmed the renewal of the solid partnership that unites the two countries and expressed their permanent confidence in their ability to face current and future challenges.
