In mid-August, the union announced that it wanted younger students to be offered vaccines.

This is to reduce anxiety and stress within the school.

Thursday's message therefore did not come a day too early.

Rather too late, says Ulrika Rytterström, who works at Gökstensskolan in Torshälla who had to close parts of the school due to the spread of infection in early September.

- It is a great pity that this decision did not come earlier.

Had the students been vaccinated at the start of school, we would have avoided closing, she says.

The plan is for the vaccination of 12-year-olds and up to start in November.
