The nationwide vaccination week under the motto #Hierwirdgeimpft focuses on what the Frankfurt health department has been doing for months: to woo everyone in the districts who has not yet found their way to the vaccination center.

For all those who went to the Festhalle months ago, that seems almost too much of a good thing.

In the health department, however, they are aware that the work is now becoming more arduous and fragmented, as a spokeswoman says.

Now the last reluctance would have to be overcome through outreach vaccinations.

Mobile teams go to youth clubs and to the edge of the soccer field, to the Konstablerwache and soon also in the neighborhood to schools in order to be able to vaccinate teenagers and their families right away.

And things are going well in the vaccination center in the festival hall: At the moment, around 1000 syringes are still being used a day, reports Benedikt Hart, who is responsible for the German Red Cross (DRK).

Most of them are second vaccinations that were agreed a long time ago, but there are also 300 to 400 spontaneous first vaccinations every day.

Among them about a quarter of children and three quarters of adults, so Hart.

Numerous recovered people are now vaccinated

If you only know people who have been vaccinated in your environment, you wonder who is being immunized now.

His employees have reported to Hart that numerous people who have recovered have now reported.

The Standing Vaccination Commission (STIKO) recommends that you get vaccinated no earlier than four weeks after the symptoms of a Covid 19 infection have subsided, in which case only one syringe is sufficient to be protected again.

Others would react to the restrictions now facing the unvaccinated.

Hart believes that anyone who has worked in the home office for months, goes out little and always meets the same people, has had it easy to pass all test stations.

However, when companies insist on the presence of their employees again and the cooler season makes private outdoor meetings uncomfortable, the pressure increases.

The DRK has also set up a vaccination station at the Dippemess, but the success there was not as resounding as hoped, says Hart. In the past ten days, you could only put 100 syringes, although there are tokens for rides and a plush token as an incentive. Some who did not want to attend the folk festival had themselves vaccinated there, they only seized the opportunity in passing. A DRK employee finally took courage and addressed all those who had lined up in front of the test station. His offer: Those who spontaneously get vaccinated can go straight to the Dippemess and pass the queue. But nobody wanted to get involved in a conversation, the colleague was rather dismissed.

Still, Hart would always rely on conviction instead of pressure. Only the targeted approach can now increase the vaccination rate, "we just have to do professional and scientific persuasion". Now it goes to the "small-small". The times when the vaccination center could still attract crowds with a Facebook post that appointments were free are simply over.
