Moroccan Prime Minister-designate Aziz Akhannouch said that the first round of negotiations with political parties regarding the formation of the government coalition has ended and was fruitful.

He announced the apology of both the Justice and Development Party and the United Socialist Party for participating in the formation of the government coalition, noting that the features of the formation of the government majority will appear during the next week.

On Wednesday, Akhannouch held a meeting with the Secretary-General of the leftist Progress and Socialism Party, Nabil Benabdallah, as part of his consultations to form a government, after similar meetings he had with 5 winning parties.

On Friday, King Mohammed VI commissioned Akhannouch to form the new government after his party, the National Rally of Independents, issued the results of the legislative elections that took place last Wednesday.

Akhannouch's party won 102 out of 395 seats in the House of Representatives. According to the country's constitution, there is no specific period for government formation consultations.

According to media reports, the outgoing Prime Minister Saad Eddine El Othmani, the Secretary-General of the Justice and Development Party, apologized for attending Akhannouch's consultations, at a time when there was no denial or confirmation from the party regarding this.
