• The ring road was cut at the level of the Cheviré bridge, in the north-south direction, by a demonstration.

  • The association of the paralyzed of France (APF) demonstrated in favor of the individualization of the allowance for disabled adults (AAH).

What a mess ! The south of the Nantes agglomeration was disturbed this Thursday morning by more intense traffic jams than usual. Traffic was very complicated on the road to Pornic, on the outskirts of the Ile de Nantes, even downright catastrophic on the southern ring road. In question: a demonstration on the Cheviré bridge from 7.45 am. A dozen members of the association of the paralyzed of France (APF) have indeed cut the tracks, in the south-north direction, in order to express their "fed up" about the non-individualization of the allowance for disabled adults (AAH).

The amount of the AAH, granted to people who cannot work because of their disability, is in fact calculated according to the couple's resources.

However, because of this rule, nearly 270,000 people would be deprived of AAH or would receive only a reduced sum.

"Enough, it must change"

"It is an injustice that has been denounced for 20 years," explains Grégoire Charmois, spokesperson for APF 44. We have already taken action on the subject but nothing is happening.

The government is blocking.

Enough, it must change!

The AAH is not a social minimum like the others.

Disabled people who are deprived of it cannot have financial independence vis-à-vis their spouse, it is a double penalty.

Some couples force themselves not to live together in order to benefit from it.

"

The APF's action on the Cheviré bridge ended around 9 a.m.

Two of the three lanes had already been reopened around 8:30 am.

And despite the tension generated by traffic jams, the association claims to have received a lot of support from motorists.

“When you explain it to them, they understand.

Civil society has evolved.

The deconjugalization of the AAH is no longer an isolated demand.

"

The APF, joined by other associations, will organize a rally at 3 p.m. this Thursday in front of the Loire-Atlantique prefecture in Nantes.
