The government wants to introduce a new law that all municipalities must work on crime prevention and invests extra money in its budget proposal to give the municipalities a boost.

Extensive crime prevention work is already being carried out in the City of Gothenburg, and according to the municipal board chairman Axel Josefson (M), the proposed 219 million per year is not enough to make a difference in Gothenburg.

- The financial resources are minimal, we are already doing much more than what the proposal says.
