self-developed SLBM submarine ballistic missile soars above the waters off the coast of Taean, South Chungcheong Province.

The test-firing of an SLBM launched from the Dosan Anchangho, the first 3,000-ton submarine in the Korean Navy, has been successfully carried out.

The missile flew over the planned range and hit the target precisely.

It is the eighth successful test launch in the world after the United States, Russia, China, the United Kingdom, France, India and North Korea.

President Moon Jae-in, who observed the test launch, emphasized deterrence by referring to the North Korean missile launch as a provocation yesterday (15th).

[President Moon Jae-in: North Korea made a provocation of launching a ballistic missile, and I think our SLBM can be an effective deterrent against North Korea's asymmetric power.]

Four hours after President Moon's remarks were reported, North Korea strongly protested. .

North Korea expressed great regret for President Moon's use of the word 'provocation' in a discourse under Kim Yo-jong's name, and argued that inter-Korean relations would be utterly destroyed if even the president stepped forward and joined in slandering the other.

Kim Yeo-jung, however, did not wish for the complete destruction of inter-Korean relations and said that she should think carefully about everything she said and did, implying that she would not act immediately.
