China News Service, Kunming, September 15 (Reporter Han Shuinan) According to the official determination of the China Seismological Network: A 3.3-magnitude earthquake occurred in Yangbi County, Dali Prefecture, Yunnan (25.73 degrees north latitude, 99.99 degrees east longitude) at 7:19 on September 15th. The depth is 9 kilometers.

  According to the China Earthquake Network Express Catalogue, a total of 122 earthquakes of magnitude 3 or higher occurred within 200 kilometers of the epicenter in the past five years. The largest earthquake was the magnitude 6.4 earthquake that occurred in Yangbi County, Dali Prefecture, Yunnan Province on May 21, 2021.

  Yangbi Yi Autonomous County is located in the west of Yunnan Province, named after the Yangbi River.

Since ancient times, the county has been an important town on the Ancient Tea Horse Road, with the Yunnan-Burma Highway, Dabao Expressway, 320 National Highway and Dali Railway passing through the border.
