Gotland traffic is today run by Destination Gotland, which has long won the procurements carried out by the state.
Traffic is subsidized by the state with just over SEK 500 million per year.
Therefore, before each procurement, there is a hope from the state that tenders from competing shipping companies will reduce costs.
"Absolutely unreasonable"
But for Eva Nypelius (C), chairman of the regional board, the measure is starting to pick up when it comes to the state's view of Gotland traffic.
