Since 2015, scientists have discovered more than 700 new species of animals and plants.

　　According to Yang Yongping, director of the Xishuangbanna Tropical Botanical Garden of the Chinese Academy of Sciences (hereinafter referred to as "Banna Botanical Garden"), in 2015, the Chinese Academy of Sciences relied on the Banna Botanical Garden to establish the Southeast Asia Biodiversity Research Center based in Myanmar.

Since the establishment of the research center, it has carried out 9 Sino-Myanmar joint scientific expeditions and 3 Sino-Laos joint scientific expeditions, and achieved remarkable results.

　　According to statistics, since 2015, scientists have discovered more than 700 new species of animals and plants through multiple cross-border joint scientific expeditions.

Including a number of new plant species such as grape ginger flower, Burmese callose orchid, Burmese coccinea golden bull, Kachin Xiaolan, Victoria open arrow, large calyx impatiens, and new animal species such as grape true mackerel.

Among them, Kachin Magnolia and Kachin Xiaolan are extremely difficult to find trees in plant classification in recent years.

　　In addition, the joint scientific expedition team also discovered only about 500 white-bellied herons in the world, as well as many rare and endangered species such as Bengal tigers, leopards, and clouded leopards.

　　"While the joint scientific expedition helps Southeast Asian countries find out about biodiversity, it also cultivates professionals, enhances exchanges and mutual trust between the two sides, and creates a good international cooperation atmosphere for the joint construction of a green'Belt and Road'."
