Khalifa bin Zayed issues a law establishing the Abu Dhabi Family Welfare Authority

His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE, in his capacity as Ruler of the Emirate of Abu Dhabi, issued a law establishing the Family Care Authority, affiliated to the Department of Community Development in Abu Dhabi.

The authority aims to enhance family cohesion and stability and ensure the establishment of the foundations of a unified governance model for managing family cases, by providing family care services to all members of society through a single point of contact, by developing and updating a database and a unified register of beneficiaries.

The authority also works to identify the needs of families and provide them with proactive services, with the aim of raising the quality of life of its members.

The authority conducts research related to family care, proposes legislation and develops programs that will improve and enhance family care services.

The authority promotes societal awareness of the role of the family in society in coordination with the relevant authorities, instilling noble values, consolidating principles and good morals, and strengthening national identity.
