Ånge municipality, Sundsvall municipality, Timrå municipality, Region Västernorrland, Region Jämtland Härjedalen, Östersund municipality, Krokom municipality, Åre municipality, County Administrative Board of Jämtland, Swedish Motorcyclists and more, all reject the proposal for speed reduction on E14.

This is stated in the answers sent to the Swedish Transport Administration.

"Devastating for development"

SVT has read the answers and here are some of the comments:

Most municipalities state that they reject the proposal.

Krokom municipality expresses itself more powerfully.

The municipality "strongly protests against the Swedish Transport Administration's proposal".

They believe that they would be devastating for the area's development opportunities.

Lacks a holistic approach

SMC, Swedish Motorcyclists, writes that they lack a holistic approach to traffic safety measures in the Swedish Transport Administration's proposal.

They mention a number of other measures to reduce the risk of accidents.

SMC instead mentions center grooves, expansion of game fences, general upgrading of roads and better friction.

Åre municipality emphasizes central separation and game fencing as alternative solutions and wants to see a plan for it.

The police have no objection

The police in both Västernorrland and Jämtland County are the only ones who answered that they have no objections.

"From the point of view of road safety, the police authority has nothing to recall".

Kramfors Municipality and the Swedish Rules Council refrain from commenting on the issue.
