The bodies of two elderly people were found Tuesday morning at their home in Sémalens, not far from Castres, in the Tarn.
Firefighters were called shortly after 9 a.m. and discovered the couple in their 80s shot dead.
Advised, the gendarmes went on the spot.
According to the first elements of the investigation, the man would have targeted his wife before turning the weapon against him.
The latter, affected and weakened by the Covid-19 according to a spokesperson for the gendarmerie, would have feared leaving his wife alone.

The investigation opened for “homicide on spouse” and entrusted to the research brigade of the gendarmerie of Castres, will have to determine the circumstances and the context of this tragedy.
