(Study Regulations·Experts) Wang Yifu: The formation of a new pattern of united front work in Taiwan is a vision that everyone hopes for

China News Service, Beijing, September 14 (Reporter Lu Mei) At the end of 2020, the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China issued the revised "Regulations on the United Front Work of the Communist Party of China" (hereinafter referred to as the "Regulations").

Wang Yifu, chairman of the National Taiwan Studies Association and chair professor of the Taiwan Research Institute of Xiamen University, said in an exclusive interview with reporters from Chinanews.com that the formation of a new pattern of united front work in Taiwan is a fact that everyone sees and a vision that everyone awaits.

The "Regulations" will play an increasingly important role like a magic weapon.

Talking about the historical tradition of Taiwan's patriotic reunification movement, Wang Yifu believes that it can be divided into two stages.

The first stage was the Anti-Japanese Restoration Movement, which began when the Japanese invaded Taiwan in 1895.

Between 1939 and 1943, Taiwanese compatriot Xie Nanguang wrote many articles, which described and discussed the historical traditions at this stage.

He said: "The goal of our Anti-Japanese and Restoration Movement has always been consistent, that is: to defeat Japanese imperialism and regain Taiwan, which is part of our national revolution." At the time of liberation, it is necessary to mobilize the various ethnic groups in Taiwan to participate in the Chinese War of Resistance." "All the Chinese parties and factions who resolutely resist the Japanese war consider mentors and friends for their education and assistance." "Recover Taiwan's slogan" "After August 13th caused China's all-out war of resistance, Taiwan’s revolutionary comrades began a front-line unification movement, until the establishment of the "Taiwan National Revolutionary General League" on September 18 last year, a united front. The movement has gradually started".

The Taiwan Volunteer Team, captained by Taiwan compatriot Li Youbang, was formed under the guidance of the United Front Work Committee of the Zhejiang Provincial Committee of the Communist Party of China. It is an anti-Japanese team led by the Communist Party of Taiwan compatriots.

Wang Yifu said that the second stage was the anti-separatism and anti-"Taiwan independence" struggle and the movement to promote the reunification of the motherland that began in 1945.

At the "San Francisco Conference" held from April 25 to June 26, 1945, the US delegation put forward a proposal on the "UN Trusteeship System" (also known as the International Trust System).

On May 16th of that year, while the "San Francisco Conference" was still going on, Taiwan compatriot Xie Dongmin wrote in the "Taiwan Minsheng Daily" that: "I think, in order to completely regain Taiwan, we should provide a memorandum to the international trust governance conference. , Reaffirming that the Cairo Conference’s decision cannot be changed, and at the same time, it clearly stated that Taiwan’s history, ethnicity, and geography are inseparable from China, and China’s territorial integrity and sovereignty must be guaranteed." "(International Trust System) Except for Taiwan, because it It is vital to China’s security and China’s welfare; it is 100% of China’s territory. In addition, China itself must be fully conscious, have a clear attitude and a firm stand."

Wang Yifu pointed out that advocating the acceptance of the "international trusteeship system" and its related "self-determination of Taiwan residents" and "the undetermined theory of Taiwan's status" are the first wave of "Taiwan independence" thoughts on the island of Taiwan.

The Taiwanese Democratic Self-Government League was established on November 12, 1947 and formed by Taiwan compatriots (the chairman of the creation is Xie Xuehong, a Taiwan compatriot).

Since the 1990s, Lee Teng-hui, who advocated "Taiwan independence," and his followers have sometimes been in the blue camp, sometimes in the green camp, some in the green camp, and some in the blue camp, constantly changing their faces and methods to promote "Taiwan independence."

The Taiwan Patriotic Reunification Movement faces more serious challenges, shoulders more important tasks, and has come to today one step at a time.

Taiwan compatriots Lin Shuyang, Chen Yingzhen, Chen Mingzhong, Wang Xiaobo and others are the pacesetters of Taiwan's patriotic reunification movement, and their spirit is still leading and blessing Taiwan's patriotic reunification movement.

The "Regulations" pointed out that "support democratic parties and people without party affiliation, guide relevant people's organizations and social organizations, and play a role in the work of the united front of Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan."

In this regard, Wang Yifu said that it is wise to clearly emphasize the "Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan united front work."

The united front is one of the three magic weapons of the Communist Party of China, but in Taiwan, some people have stigmatized it, and others have stigmatized it.

Even worse than stigmatization, there are people who demonize the united front.

So, is it necessary to avoid the united front?

On the contrary, we should talk positively about the united front and the superiority of the united front.

Wang Yifu also pointed out that it is important to emphasize "playing a role".

He cited his own experience as an example. He had worked in democratic parties and people's organizations, and after retiring in social organizations, he saw that the democratic parties and related organizations played an extraordinary role.

It is sacred and glorious for democratic parties and people without party affiliation, relevant people's organizations and social organizations to play a role in the work of the united front in Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan.

Wang Yifu stated that Article 35 of Chapter IX of the Regulations stipulates: "The main tasks of the united front work with Taiwan are: to implement the Party Central Committee’s major policy on Taiwan’s work, adhere to the one-China principle, broadly unite Taiwan compatriots at home and abroad, and develop Strengthen Taiwan's patriotic reunification force, oppose the'Taiwan independence' separatist activities, continue to promote the peaceful reunification of the motherland, and work together to achieve the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation." The seven main tasks of the united front with Taiwan are all in line with the actual needs and development of cross-strait relations. Hard tasks required.

The formation and upgrading of a new pattern of united front work with Taiwan is a fact that everyone sees and a vision that everyone awaits.

The "Regulations on the Work of the United Front of the Communist Party of China" will play a more and more important role like a magic weapon.
