Rescuers and marine firefighters in Kuwait retrieved yesterday afternoon the body of a girl from the sea after she threw herself from the top of Sheikh Jaber Bridge, and an investigation was opened to determine the circumstances of the girl's suicide.
According to the Kuwaiti newspaper "Al-Anbaa", the girl has European citizenship, is of Arab origin, was born in Kuwait and is 22 years old and works in the Ministry of Education, according to a security source.
According to the source, the Operations Room of the General Traffic Department sent an urgent telegram, which included that the surveillance cameras monitored a girl who left her belongings in her vehicle and threw herself from the top of the bridge.
The source added: Immediately, the marine firefighting and marine rescue boats moved to the site from which the girl was reported to have dumped herself, and minutes later the firefighters were able to retrieve the girl's body, and notify the forensic evidence to transfer the body as well as verify its identity.
In addition, the Public Relations and Media Department of the General Fire Service stated that a report was received to the firefighting operations room from the Ministry of Interior’s operations stating that an unidentified woman threw herself into the sea from the Sheikh Jaber Al-Ahmad Bridge, and as a result, the fireboats were directed from the Shuwaikh and Salmiya centers for firefighting and marine rescue. Which arrived at the site and carried out a search for the girl, and her body was found, and she was recovered and taken to the center, where the body was handed over to the competent authorities.
On the other hand, a security source told Al-Jarida newspaper that a citizen informed the operations room that he saw the girl stopping her car and throwing herself into the sea.
According to investigations and investigations, the identity of the girl was identified, and it was found that she holds Australian citizenship, is of Arab origin and works as a teacher in the Ministry of Education, pointing out that her family contacted the security services in the Capital Governorate to investigate the reasons for her suicide.
The testimony of the girl's family was heard in an attempt to establish the causes of the accident.
